About the guys…

A music educator and performer with over 25 years of experience, Al got his start playing saxophone as a 6th grade band student near Winston-Salem, NC. Al is a former member of several bands including the Lake Howell HS Silver Regiment, the Paul M. Dorman HS Marching Cavaliers, Special Edition, the East Carolina University Marching Pirates, The Coastline Band and Trainwreck. Al graduated from ECU in 2004 with a Bachelors of Music Education degree. For the past ten years, Al has been a band director at SouthWest Edgecombe High School in Pinetops, Clayton High School and Springfield Middle School in Lucama.

Al is a big fan of all kinds of music, but the following artists and bands have made the biggest impact on his musical style: The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Maceo Parker, Dexter Gordon, Grover Washington, Jr., and the Dave Matthews Band.

Chris was born and raised in Tarboro, NC where he was part of a very musical family. He began playing at the age of thirteen and is at home on the guitar and bass, and is a phenomenal vocalist.

Chris has played with Roy C, Percy Sledge, ZZ Hill, The Dramatic Santanas, Franko and the Gang, and numerous others. His musical influences are too numerous to list, so just think of the entire history of music and that should almost cover it.

Chris loves to travel, listen to music, or just kick back and watch sports.

Jarrett hails from the booming metropolis of Pinetops NC. His music exposure began with his father who had grown up as a drummer playing with the likes of Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, Clifford Curry and even James Brown… so, as a kid riding around in the family vehicle, he was exposed to a lot of old school music.

Jarrett began playing trumpet in middle school because he thought having only three valves would make it easy. That definitely was not the case, but he quickly caught on and was even drafted by the high school marching band to play solos while in middle school.

After dropping the trumpet to attend college and pursue a career in engineering, he began following his love for music once again. Jarrett has shared the stage with The Embers and The Band of Oz, has been a member of the original Showmen band, and has opened for Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs and The Commodores.

Born and raised in the midwest, Jim has been playing every instrument he could get his hands on since he was 8 years old. After 30 years in the business, he exited the music scene; however, with some strong arm-twisting he picked the guitar back up after moving to North Carolina in 2007.

Jim cut his teeth with a hard rock band playing in clubs starting at the age of 16, and has strummed strings professionally in the studio and on stage (guitar, bass, violin, mandolin, harp) from Nashville to Los Angeles in genres from heavy metal to bluegrass, though his heart is with blues/rock.

Jim currently lives near Beaufort, NC.
